The man is the temporary Prime Minister. Elected to be the leader of the Liberal party before the election was called. And he created an a paired down cabinet because he knew he was going to face an election.
Can we please stop all of this peripheral stuff until after the damned election?
Right now the biggest concern for most Canadians is whether or not we’re going to put a leader into the office of Prime Minister, who is going to protect Canada from the United States as opposed to sell us out to the United States and that’s top of the mind for probably 80% of the Canadian population right at the moment. Once we go through the election and know who the Prime Minister is, then we start thinking about what people we need to be put into what positions to cover all of the necessary needs of Canadians.
Not to mention, why aren’t you asking Pierre who any of his cabinet ministers are going to be? He certainly hasn’t put forward any names or said this is the person that I think would make a really good Cabinet Minister.
All of our media seems to be giving Polievre a pass on all of this stuff while bashing Carney as much as possible about everything.
Did you not notice this was how the United States ended up with Donald Trump with all of the media basically whitewashing whatever he had to say or telling us that he was just joking and yet pounding away on Kamala constantly?
Give Carney a break. He’s only been PM for about a month. He’ll do the right thing. I’m a woman and I’m okay with it. After all he has a very equal wife-partner and a family of 3 young people to keep him on track for women’s issues.
A pared down cabinet to prepare for election is not representative of what will happen with a cabinet post election with a full mandate and a new direction. The portfolio was not eliminated but reassigned. It’s interesting to me how a person 30 days into being being Prime Minister, campaigning in an election while managing the biggest crisis in our history with Trump’s direct attacks can be criticized here using a “hot issue” so close to election day. Irresponsible journalism “The Walrus”. Until you have actually clarified what the exact position Mark Carney’s is on Women’s Rights. His “walk and talk” speaks he is fully supportive. Had he not trimmed back the cabinet assigning multiple portfolios to do so you would scream of out of control spending by a bloated bureaucracy.
Fucking shit rag not worth the paper it’s written on. You do know he has a daughter who is lesbian which would clearly make him all for protecting the rights of the lgbtq community
This is a pared down temporary cabinet. Calm down
I expect this will be brought when a new cabinet is named.

I do have an issue with this. Once he has the economy back on track and safe from Trump, we will have to push for this.
